Job Title: Production Manager
Reports to: Line Producer / Head of Production

Job Summary:
The Production Manager (PM) is responsible for the physical and logistical delivery of the project. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the production office and the set, ensuring that all departments have the resources required to meet the creative vision while strictly adhering to the approved budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Management: Monitor the cost-to-complete. Authorize departmental purchase orders, oversee payroll for crew and talent, and manage the production’s contingency funds.
- Operational Logistics: Supervise the procurement and delivery of all technical equipment (Camera, Grip, Lighting). Coordinate transport, travel, and accommodation for cast and crew.
- Personnel Management: Issue and track all crew contracts. Ensure that all hiring practices comply with industry standards and employment law.
- Health & Safety: Act as the primary point of contact for Risk Assessments. Ensure the production is fully insured and that all set activities meet statutory safety requirements.
- Workflow Coordination: Liaise between the Director’s creative requirements and the Line Producer’s financial constraints. Ensure the daily Call Sheets are accurate and distributed on time.
- Vendor Relations: Negotiate long-term contracts with kit houses, studios, and post-production facilities to secure optimal service levels and pricing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of industry-standard software, including Movie Magic Scheduling & Budgeting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Firm understanding of union agreements (e.g., BECTU, Equity, SAG-AFTRA), tax incentive requirements, and health and safety legislation.
- Logistical Planning: Proven experience managing complex multi-location shoots and international travel logistics.
- Reporting: Ability to produce accurate weekly cost reports and progress updates for stakeholders.

A Set Designer for this contemporary film will be responsible for developing and executing realistic, character‑driven environments that reflect present‑day architecture, culture, and visual language. The role ensures that all sets support the Director’s creative vision while meeting the technical, budgetary, and scheduling requirements of a modern film production.
Position Overview:
The Set Designer collaborates closely with the Production Designer and Art Director to translate script requirements into detailed design documentation. This includes designing practical, believable spaces, adapting real locations, and ensuring that all built environments integrate seamlessly with cinematography, lighting, and production logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Contemporary Set Design — Develop design concepts that reflect current architectural styles, interior trends, and cultural context.
- Character‑Driven Visuals — Incorporate environmental details that reinforce character backgrounds, emotional states, and narrative themes.
- Location Adaptation — Modify and enhance real locations to meet creative and technical needs while maintaining authenticity.
- Technical Drafting — Produce accurate plans, elevations, and 3D models for construction and dressing teams.
- Interdepartmental Coordination — Work with Construction, Props, Lighting, and Camera departments to ensure cohesive execution.
- Budget & Materials Management — Estimate costs, source materials, and ensure designs remain within financial parameters.
- On‑Set Supervision — Oversee set builds, dressing, and adjustments during production to maintain continuity and design integrity.
- Research & Documentation — Conduct research into contemporary environments, lifestyles, and cultural references relevant to the film’s setting.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or equivalent drafting tools.
- Strong drawing, spatial design, and model‑making skills.
- Understanding of modern construction methods, materials, and practical set‑building techniques.
- Knowledge of film production workflows, including camera requirements and lighting considerations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
- A portfolio demonstrating contemporary design work in film, television, theater, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Production Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience designing for contemporary film or television productions.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and modern material sourcing.
